The best piano books I could find!And you don't feel like a little child playing stupid A-B-C melodies!
As a piano teacher for over 20 years, I have found the Faber Piano Adventure Series to be the best methods I've ever used. The adult books share the same excellence. I like that it includes theory pages and technic as well as the usual lessons. The songs are a nice selection from classical themes to traditional to originals. All are arranged very musically. This book covers the equivalent content of the Older Beginner Book 2 through Level 3B, so it moves along at a good clip. Of course there are also 189 pages. (Faber Adult Piano I covered Key of C & G, and reading notes up to high G right above the staff & down to low G at the bottom line of the bass staff, and overlaps with to some of Older Beginner Level 2. That gives one an idea of the level it begins at.)
This book only combines levels 2-3b! So if you want levels 4 and 5 you need to order those seperately. Faber has not disappointed me yet. They have such a great series!
i highly recommend & own NancyFaber's Adult piano books: 2 Adventure, 2 classical, 2 popular & Christmas classics. All vignette pieces are doable yet challenging for me, 67-years young retired great-grandma, classes 2 semesters. i love the joy of playing & of figuring out the music piece on my own. i love to fireup my Yamaha Clavinova and terrorize the neighbors with the Entertainer, Swan Lake, O miobabbino caro, Moonlight sonata, etc....i suggest the author include Fur Elise in future editions.
Waste of money. The cd is an orchestra accompiament. It is not someone playing it on the piano so you can follow it note for note. Teaching myself piano and wanted to be able to hear what it sounds like on the piano to check if I'm playing it correctly. Don't bother spending the extra money for the cd. You can find the songs on you tube.
I am happy with this layout for the older student. My only complaint is that there are no written theory exercises.
This is the second book in the series. I ordered it after completing the first book. I am taking piano lessons after retiring and this series is easy to follow and the pieces that are duets are fun to play with my teacher. I recommend these books.
Great book i advice every body to buy these books of this professor because it's shortening the time of learning and making the piano and learning the music so easy.
As a piano teacher, I highly recommend any and all of the Piano Adventures series.
